It is named after the region Apurimac in Peru where it is found growing towards the sea in coastal deserts. It has soft furry, silver leaves and produces a flower spike with lovely scented, purple flowers. This species is slow growing but easy to keep in high light levels or full sun with regular misting and good air movement.
