This has been re-threaded/upgraded to accept the "contemporary" AFT installation shift cable 19543A4 (Sierra 18-2190)  Up until 1983 MerCruiser used a shift cable that threaded from the other side

Also includes flywheel housing cover 72100 / 0584477

minor pitting on the mating surface on the outermost edges of the flange where there are holes in the mating gasket to block the water passage (this is normal)
