Made from a linen gingham woven from black and white yarn, then overdyed with bengara, a traditional Japanese pigment made from iron oxide. Naturally red in hue, bengara was historically produced as a byproduct of copper mining in Fukiya Village, Takahashi. Subtle variations in color emerge through the natural dyeing process.
